The first episode of the new BUNCS Podcast has launched! There's a new tab at the top of the page where you can download the episode directly or subscribe to the feed (which can be placed into iTunes, etc.). We hope everyone enjoys it - it should provide some useful information about the things we do, including the upcoming Omegathon, and welcome your comments on the forums.

Only slightly delayed *cough*3weeks*cough*, the committee page has been updated for the new committee, and emails now go to the right people. In theory.
In practice, it could all be horribly broken, but we won't mention that and let me know if you find that it is.
In other news, planning for n00bcamp 08 is underway (ie, we have a room booked). More information to follow as we can be bothered to make stuff up. I mean get around to it.

Oh hai. I'z nu here.
You may or may not have noticed a new tab up top of the page saying IRC. We've had an IRC channel for a while, its advertised just above this in fact, but its empty. So, thought I, why not put a chat client on the website.
So I did. Yays.
At the moment it may be a touch broken, as I'm not entirely sure how it works, and in the future I'm going to try and get it to read your username ahead of time, but at the moment it works, so test, suggest and join #buncs!

The forums have been migrated from punBB to shiny new phpBB3. You can reach them via the same link above or your existing bookmark, but you'll need to get your password reset so you can log in and change it to whatever you like. You will also need to set up your avatar again.
If you haven't already done so, why not register for the first time and join in the discussions over the summer. It's a while until the next LAN, so this is the place to keep in contact with members, and arrange online games.
If you have any problems with the new board, let us know by e-mailing webmaster@buncs.com

Ahoy Freshers! and other people too..
The first BUNCS LAN of the year (lovingly named 'n00bcamp 07') is approaching! Visit the 'LAN Stuff' page for info on what to bring and what to expect.
If you think you might like a bit of networked gaming and fancy meeting some new people, we urge you to come along with your PC or laptop and try it out - there's no obligation to join BUNCS if you think it's not your bag, baby.
Members who live off campus can request transport in the designated thread on the forums.
See you there!

COMMITTEE ELECTIONS TO BE HELD AT NEXT LAN
The time has come to look for a new committee for BUNCS - it was around this time last year that your current pwnage committee took their places.
The elections will take place at the next LAN, on Saturday (17th March) at 5pm. Any member can run for a position! You just need to decide what you'd like to do before the LAN and perhaps have a mini-manifesto ready in case you have competition. The positions available are:
> CHAIRMAN / CHAIRLADY (currently Charlene/Bunny)
> TREASURER (currently Matt/MattB90)
> SECRETARY (currently yours truly, Jamie/denwO)
> LAN MONKEY (currently Tom/-TB-)
> WEBMASTER (currently Nathan/hairymnstr)
Note that if you want to run for Webmaster you ought to have a speech ready to convince people that Nathan, who coded the website etc. from scratch, should not stay on-board, as he will also be running for the position again.
A vote will be held for each position, in which the people in the room who are paid-up members of BUNCS can vote for their preference.
If you have any questions about what these roles involve or if you'd like to run for a position but cannot be at the LAN, put up a post in the elections thread on the forums.

Yes, we've pounced on another 3WN3.7 booking having been given permission to use the room again. Thanks for those who made an effort to keep it tidy.. ish.
Anyway, it'll be Friday 16th -> Sunday 18th March, times etc as they were last weekend.
See you there!
